NE Knights 13u Holds Onto Victory As KC NORTH Almost Erases 6-Run Deficit
Despite seeing its six-run lead whittled down by the end, NE Knights 13u still held off KC NORTH of Plattsburgh, NY for an 11-9 victory on Sunday.
Kyle Wilson battled through 6 errors to get the win, and Sean Egan came in to close the door on KC North with 2 outs in the fifth and threw a scoreless sixth.
SS Cole Varano and Egan worked a back pick on a sleeping go-ahead runner to get the third out in the 5th and get the knights out of a jam with the tying runner on third.
KC NORTH scored five runs in the failed comeback on a single by Jim Brodus, an error, a double by Kenny Craddox, and a walk by Kevin Dattola.
NE Knights 13u earned the victory despite allowing KC NORTH to score five runs in the fifth inning.
NE Knights 13u pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third David Roberts doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, Gavin Carrubba singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Nick Wolf singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
